Frequently asked questions

Before you send your design

Six things clients ask us most often. If your question isn't here — write to us, we reply within one business day.

Ask a question
What file format should I send my artwork in?

Vector format is best — .cdr, .pdf or .ai (.eps also accepted), with fonts converted to curves. We also accept raster files in .tif, .jpg and .ps at a minimum resolution of 300 DPI.

Is a printed mug dishwasher-safe?

Prints on porcelain and porcelite items are fired at 840°C, which gives them durability and scratch resistance. Decoration on glass and with low-temperature paints is more exposed to mechanical damage.

Will the print colour match my design exactly?

We match colours against the Pantone swatch book. Because of firing temperature, the variety of ceramic material and the limited range of paints, a deviation of up to 15% falls within normal tolerances and is not grounds for a complaint.

What's the minimum line thickness for artwork?

For printing: 0.2 mm in positive and 0.4 mm in negative. For sandblasting: 1 mm in positive and 1.5 mm in negative. For engraving: 0.2 mm in positive and 0.4 mm in negative.

Which decoration technique should I choose?

It depends on your design and material. Transfer Plus works well for large surfaces, Polylux gives more colours in a single decoration, Digital Print reproduces photos and gradients, and Deep Effect creates a tactile relief. You'll find the full guide to all nine techniques in the Knowledge base.

Can I become a distributor of your ceramics?

Yes. We work with advertising agencies and promotional-gift distributors. After registering you get access to the calculator with partner pricing, a catalogue without our branding, and a dedicated account manager.
