Technical guide

Everything you need to prepare a file for decoration — formats, minimum line thicknesses, resolution and color tolerances.

Vector .cdr .pdf .ai .eps fonts converted to curves
Raster .tif .jpg .ps minimum 300 DPI
01

Graphics

  • Vector format in files with .cdr, .pdf, .ai extensions; .eps format acceptable — fonts converted to curves.
  • Raster format in files with .tif, .jpg, .ps extensions.
02

Line thickness

0,2 / 0,4 mm print — positive / negative
1 / 1,5 mm sandblasting
0,2 / 0,4 mm engraving
  • For printing, a minimum line thickness of 0.2 mm for positive and 0.4 mm for negative is required.
  • For sandblasting, a minimum thickness of 1 mm for positive and 1.5 mm for negative is required.
  • For engraving, a minimum line thickness of 0.2 mm for positive and 0.4 mm for negative is required.
03

Raster printing

300 DPI minimum resolution
  • The minimum required resolution is 300 DPI. A prototype is recommended, because in ceramic prints using screen printing, it is not always possible to reproduce graphics with photographic quality. The number of colors in complex graphics may change.
04

Decoration area

  • Please specify the placement of the graphic: 1 or 2 sides, wrap-around print, inside print, handle, underside, bottom.
  • The graphic motif should fit the print area of the selected product.

05

Colors

Pantone reference palette
±15% acceptable deviation
  • Colors are specified using the Pantone palette. Identical colors are not always possible due to firing temperature, various ceramic materials, and a limited number of inks — a 15% deviation is within standard limits and is not subject to complaint.
06

Print durability

840°C firing temperature
  • Prints on porcelain and porcelite products are fired at 840°C — hence the guarantee of their durability and resistance to mechanical scratches.
  • Prints on glass and low-temperature ink decoration methods are prone to mechanical damage.
